This PVC Cat5E range provides four-pair copper cabling for fixed voice and Ethernet connections. The conductors are solid bare copper with PE insulation, enclosed by a thermoplastic PVC sheath. U/UTP, F/UTP and SF/UTP versions cover unshielded, foil-screened and foil-plus-braid-screened installations. The fire-performance section specifies the BS EN 60332-1-2 single-cable flame test.
ISO/IEC 11801 , EN 50173 , ANSI/TIA/EIA 568
Flame Retardance (Single Vertical Wire Test) :BS EN 60332-1-2
Conductor : 24AWG solid bare copper.
Insulation : PE.
Twinning : Two coloured insulated conductors twisted together to form a pair.
Outer Sheath : Thermoplastic PVC compound.
Outer Sheath Option : UV resistance, hydrocarbon resistance, oil resistance, anti-rodent and anti-termite properties can be offered as option. Compliance to fire performance standard (IEC 60332-1, IEC 60332-3, UL 1581, UL 1666 etc) depends on the oxygen index of the PVC compound and the overall cable design. LSPVC can also be provided upon request.
Cat5EF/UTP : These cables have collective shielding of Aluminium/polyester tape with drain wire.
Cat5ESF/UTP : These cables have double collective shielding of Aluminium/polyester tape & copper wire braid.
Temperature range : -30°C - +75°C
Minimum bending radius during installation (mobile state) : 8 x Overall Diameter
Minimum bending radius during operation (fixed state) : 4 x Overall Diameter

24 AWG solid copper conductors and four twisted pairs.
PVC outer sheath with separate U/UTP, F/UTP and SF/UTP constructions.
100 ± 15 ohms characteristic impedance over 1–100 MHz.
Choose the screen arrangement to suit the network hardware and route. The listed diameters are 5.1 mm for U/UTP, 6.3 mm for F/UTP and 6.6 mm for SF/UTP. Specify any special sheath or fire-test requirement with the cable order; the base PVC construction is distinct from the LSZH range.
Which insulation is used on the copper conductors?
PE insulation surrounds the 24 AWG solid bare copper conductors.
How is the F/UTP version screened?
It has an overall aluminium/polyester tape screen with a drain wire.
What does SF/UTP add?
An overall copper wire braid in addition to the aluminium/polyester tape screen.
Is the standard outer sheath LSZH?
The standard sheath on this page is PVC. LSZH Cat5E products are listed separately.
What is the listed temperature range?
The physical and thermal data gives −30°C to +75°C.
